Crime in Chicago is VERY cheap, from the criminals' point-of-view. And again: Only misdemeanor charges filed after man's stabbed at Belmont Red Line station | CWB Chicago
A single misdemeanor charge is all that has been filed in connection with this week’s stabbing on the Belmont Red Line platform, according to Chicago police. It’s the second time in a week that a stabbing on the train system resulted in a misdemeanor charge even though signs throughout the transit system warn that anyone who batters a transit passenger or employee will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
It is the 2nd case in as many weeks where a stabbing related to the transit system has resulted in misdemeanor charges.
That will send a message. That message is that crime is OK in Chicago, so have at it.
I hope there's an APP that shows the DANGEROUS locations in Chicago like the human feces app in SF!
ReplyDeleteJust finished reading a book, 2 actually, by a retired Chicago policeman who was a cop sometime in the 80s and 90s, and things were the same back then. The jails and prisons were full so the DA's office would routinely knock felonies down to misdemeanors.
