He was a risk, and she took steps to be able to defend herself.

I wanted to say, "What took you so long?" to the DA.
ReplyDeleteThe facts of the case - when it was published 2 months ago - noted that the dead guy had been a domestic-violence problem, and that he showed up wearing a mask and armed.
He was clearly a threat of "death or grave bodily injury." So why did take 10 weeks to make a determination of self-defense? I don't know. Maybe he is understaffed. Maybe he really does hate self-defense.
Some DAs would take close to a year. Some would have to take the incident to a grand jury. Some would decide almost on the spot that it was self-defense.
