The SJWs are in charge. Police in that city can't do car chases (too dangerous) and can't do foot chases (too dangerous), and now civilian oversight is being revamped. SCC talks about what that is probably going to look like. (How do you spell "Kangaroo Court?")

In the meantime, how about Brownie? [That would be Chicago's Superintendent of Police, David Brown.] Is this guy an unmitigated ethical disaster or what? Demoting a commander because he refused to station a car at Brownie's favorite restaurant?

People refusing to take certain jobs, because they will be in the firing line for everything Lightfoot gets wrong. And one guy is going to be demoted because of "wilding weekends" where gangs of "youths" basically terrorize downtown. (Not good for tourism.) But when the cops were arresting people, for looting, or shoplifting, or whatever, Kim Foxx, Illinois State's Attorney for Cook County, was just turning everyone loose.

We're going to go out on a limb here and declare this "theory" has advanced to "scientific law" and that Chicago, New York, LA, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland, along with countless other democrat controlled cities, should be presented as proof positive of what has been said for years: If you reward bad behavior, you are going to get more of it. Especially if the reward is simply a lack of punishment.

It was once a great city. But then that can be said about a large number of our big cities.
