He was on bond for having held a 15-year-old girl against her will and forcing her to have sex. Is that kidnapping or slavery?
The man, 27-year-old Charles Rounds, was on bail for two felony cases at the time of the alleged shooting — another gun case and a case that accuses him of repeatedly forcing a 15-year-old girl to have sex with him as he held her against her will for two weeks.
And of course he isn't the first guy to get arrested for shooting someone while out on bond for some other heinous crime.
While Rounds is [now] charged with shooting his girlfriend Monday, he is the 25th person accused by prosecutors of shooting, trying to shoot, or killing someone in Chicago this year while on felony bond.
25. CWB Chicago is keeping track. And of course the count from last year isn't finished either. They arrested someone recently for a crime committed in 2020, while the guy in question was out on bond for another felony. Because keeping violent offenders in jail is not fair.
