She killed him under circumstances that scream self-defense, but prosecutors hate self-defense, so they charged her with murder.
A district judge in Sanders County dismissed all charges against Rachel Bellesen, 38, with prejudice on Tuesday.
That means the proscutor cannot refile the charges. They will have to vent their hatred of self-defense on someone else.
On the evening of October 8, Bellesen's ex-husband and the father of her children, Jacob Glace, used threats against their son to lure her to a local swimming pool, where she said he tried to rape her twice before she shot him.

And Self-defense IS legal in Montana.
As the saying goes.....THE PROCESS IS THE PUNISHMENT. Before the judge dismissed the charges I have no doubt this women was put through the wringer, spent money on legal fees and who knows what else.
