After reviewing the evidence presented in the case, the grand jury found that "the shooting was an act of self-defense under Ohio law," according to court documents filed in Butler County Common Pleas Court.
The incident in question happened on March 29th, so it didn't take too long to make that determination. Two weeks is moving at warp speed for the Criminal Justice System.
In a recent case in New Hampshire it took almost a year for the prosecutor to declare a shooting was self-defense, though that was an extreme case.
