Maybe not quite thought crimes.
Last year, New York City experienced a 45% increase in murders, and the number of shooting victims doubled.
But that isn't enough. De Blazio wants them to "educate people" and tell them "what you did was 'hurtful.'" Yeah, that will make a difference. Or not. If you don't know that shooting, carjacking, assaulting, raping, whatever is "hurtful" by the time you are 11, then a cop telling you as you get arrested (or not, it is NYC) isn't going to make a difference.
Hey, Mayor, you know what has an “educating impact on people”? Putting them in prison when they commit actual crimes. Maybe focus on that, instead of having cops warn people about being “hurtful.”
