How's That Affordable Bail Program Working Out?

Keeping violent offenders in jail is unfair. Letting violent offenders out of jail to commit more crime is also not fair. Who do you think deserves more compassion? Violent offenders or their victims? Prosecutors: Man stabbed girlfriend 14 times — one day after getting “affordable bail” in carjacking case

If you make something cheaper, you will see more of it, and the Criminal Justice System in Cook County and Chicago has made crime very cheap, at least fromt the criminals' point of view.

One day after a Cook County judge ignored a recommendation to impose “maximum conditions” on Michael Riddle during a bond court hearing, Riddle was arrested again Thursday — for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend 14 times as she sat on a couch next to her young child.

I won't tell you what I think the judge in question, Judge David Navarro BTW, who ignored the recommendations of the prosecutor and let this guy out of jail.

Judges don't have to listen to anyone. Not prosecutors and certainly not cops. And to have done so in this case would have tarnished his progressive/woke halo. He couldn't have that. Instead, two innocent people are in the hospital, and a 3-year-old child is traumatized. She was present at the stabbing.

It is too bad that the judge cannot be sued by the 2 victims, the girlfriend who was stabbed 14 times, and her mother who tried to intervene and was also stabbed. If a few judges were held accountable for the completely foreseeable consequences of their decisions, then maybe we would see the reemergence of law and order. But I don't expect that to happen in my lifetime.

And what was all of this about?

Riddle began looking for his phone charger, according to prosecutors.

When the woman told him where the charge was, he allegedly attacked her.

Western Civilization was nice while it lasted.

And I've tagged this "Lawyers Behaving Badly" even though the prosecutor tried to do the right thing. The judge however was/is a lawyer.
