A 911 call center that repeatedly didn't send fire trucks to a fire. And yes, people died in those fires. Fires - plural.
A 911 call center that sent paramedics to the wrong address. Again, on multiple locations.
The Mayor of D.C. lover her though, so she is back as Call Center coordinator. Where procedures have apparently not improved. For YEARS they have not improved.
One example of the audit findings was that the call center failed to put enough supervisors on the floor with the call takers.
"That is something management should understand and rectify," Patterson said. "And it doesn't take five years to do that."
So what would you do if called 911 and the Call Center wasn't quite up to sending help to the right location, or at all? Calling 911 is a fine thing to do, but you might want to work on what you are going to do while waiting.
