Portland is having to answer that question, because "defunding the police" does not come without repercussions. How many cops is too few or too many?
Amid the calls to defund the police, and the hostile environment the city has created, Portland is suddenly realizing that you need cops to answer 911 calls.
Between July 1, 2019, and June 30, 2020, the average response time was about eight minutes — about the same as it was the year before.
Since July 1 of this year, the average response time to high-priority 911 calls has grown to 14 minutes.
A lot of really bad things can happen in 14 minutes. But hey, let's defund the police because racial justice. Or something.
So the Left's advice... No one needs a firearm; just call 911 and wait for police to respond. And also let's get rid of police - or seriously defund them anyway - so that when you call 911 it takes a REALLY long time for them to respond. But hey, if you have to wait the rest of your life, know that the Left is happy about you dying a violent death.
