Or would that be a Hat Trick? Concealed carry holder shoots man trying to break into Chatham home. Three days. Three stories from Chicago.
A homeowner shot and critically wounded a man who was trying to break into their residence early Sunday in the Chatham neighborhood on Chicago's South Side.
Chatham is one of the 77 neighborhoods in Chicago. It is about 5 or 10 miles south of downtown.
Although the bad guy was shot in the back, it seems that the shooting may be justified. If he was trying to break into the house, I suppose it would depend on who was in the house. Children or a spouse or elderly relatives come to mind. He was a threat to another.
Not much information has been released, because the investigation is ongoing.
One thing I've noticed is that with all of the concealed carry and self defense that has been taking place in Chicago, the journalists have finally figured out the difference between a bad guy who got shot, and a victim.
Self defense is a human right. Good Guys 1, Bad Guys 0.

In a totally democrat controlled locale like Chicago, I’d be sorely tempted to do what I needed for defense and then vanish. Waiting on the police (if that’s an option) is a suckers bet. It leaves your name and locale public information, opens you to specious lawsuits, and could land you in jail at the hands of a corrupt prosecutor and judge.
ReplyDeleteIn someplace like LA or San Fran, I’d expect the police to be as dangerous as the culture enhancers.
It's a bit hard in this case because it is the guy's own home.
DeleteAnd while Chicago doesn't have as many CCTV cameras as London, a lot of the downtown and the club district is blanket with video cameras.
That said, I don't disagree with you.
