How the Entertainment Industry Morphed into Stalinist Oppressors

As seen from the inside. Show Business, Trump Derangement, and COVID-19.

Clifton Duncan trained as an actor, and he apparently had quite the career started. While he could keep his head down and his opinions to himself for a while, eventually he was pushed too far.

I then recognized what, sadly, many of my colleagues in the performing arts did not, which was that to most people, supporting the Orange Man had less to do with a desire for a White ethno-state, or with any great love for his personality, and more to do with practical, mundane matters such as prices, markets, jobs and taxes, and each of those major issues impact the sub-issues within it, from schooling to border security to law enforcement to military spending to social welfare, and beyond.

The old adage is true: “it’s the economy, stupid”.

The linked article covers some of his trials, and is worth a look. I have been following his podcasts so I know a little more of his story than what is presented at that link above, but it is a good intro to how, as Mr. Duncan puts it, the Artists stopped being Liberal, and became oppressive.

The vaccine mandates are still in place for actors, to choose one example that is not random. Show current status and however many boosters Big Pharma the government says you need. I think the mask mandates were still in place until just recently, though they may still be in place as well, because entertainment has become about conforming to the narrative.

This is what he believes the entertainment industry thinks of him.

I would be the transphobic anti-vax cis-gendered "Right wing" toxic male who is a white supremacist in black-face.

I guarantee that is how these people see me now.

That was part of a discussion in which it was pointed out that the mandates were finally being relaxed. Or rather they are set to be reduced, not eliminated.

Here's a bit on those mandates/protocols from early March: Tim Robbins backs Woody Harrelson’s call to end Covid protocols on set.

Asked what was absurd about the measures, Harrelson responded: “The fact that they’re still going on!

“I don’t think that anybody should have the right to demand that you’re forced to do the testing, forced to wear the mask and forced to get vaccinated three years on,” he added. “I’m just like, let’s be done with this nonsense. It’s not fair to the crews. I don’t have to wear the mask. Why should they? Why should they have to be vaccinated? How’s that not up to the individual? I shouldn’t be talking about this [expletive].”

In a world were you must conform or be destroyed, Clifton Duncan didn't conform. He stepped outside of the bounds dictated for him. I've only seen a few videos he produced, but it is a shame, because he is a wonderful actor.

If you have the time, this a speech he gave at the Mises Institute, in which he lays out all of his objections to the medical coersion that went on the past few years. It is a powerful speech. The speech is about 17 minutes, and then about the same amount of time for question and answers.

Even in Deep Blue New York, self-defense may be legal. I'm not sure I would count on that. Intruder shot by homeowner in New York

The homeowner, who was asleep at the time, heard noises and realized someone had entered his home. After retrieving a gun, the homeowner was attacked by the suspect, prompting him to shoot the intruder in self-defense.

Cops are treating it like self-defense, but they don't make decisions about charges.

The guy who got shot was taken to a local hospital, and then to the county lockup.

Self-defense is a human-right, and it may even be your legal right in New York.

More of the Media Notices that Women Own Guns

And not just a few women are buy guns; lots of women are buying guns. 'Times are changing,' more women buying guns for self-defense | KABB

National data shows that more women are becoming gun owners. According to the National Shooting Sports Foundation, gun sales reached record highs in 2020, and women accounted for 40% of all sales.

40 percent of all sales is not a small percentage. And as a former safety instructor, I'm glad to see that they are also taking classes.

And it didn't go from zero percent to forty percent overnight, but the media loves to ignore things that don't support their narrative, until they can't ignore it anymore. Sometimes the will try to ignore things that really can't be ignored.

"We have seen this rise in new gun ownership in women but also those who seek professional level training," said Corey Molinelli, an instructor at Mission Ridge Shooting Range and Academy.

According to a 2017 Pew Research Survey, women are more likely than men to cite protection as the only reason to own a gun.

Go figure.

A Brother Defended His Sister

What else should he have done? Man killed in Tuscaloosa was fatally shot while attacking ex-girlfriend, police say

The guy who got shot had been in a relationship with the woman. It was an abusive relationship, and he apparently didn't understand the sentence, "It's over!"

Residents of the complex told investigators that on Saturday, Giles had made threats to come to the apartment.

He eventually did go the apartment on Sunday, where authorities say he broke down the door, entered and began to physically assault his ex.

The assault victim’s brother grabbed a gun and shot Giles, [Capt. Jack] Kennedy [of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit] said.

Once all the reports are complete, a grand jury will decide if charges are filed. I'm not sure about Alabama, but in several states a grand jury decides every homicide case. That said, the police are treating it like self-defense.

Defending yourself, and your family, is a human-right.

Alice Cooper was unstoppable during the 1970s when the band released four consecutive platinum albums and five Top 40 hits like “I’m Eighteen,” “School’s Out,” “No More Mr. Nice Guy,” and “Elected.” Rhino will reissue two of those platinum albums – Killer (1971) and School’s Out (1972) – with newly remastered sound, rare recordings, and previously unreleased live performances.

Save your pennies and mark your calendars.

Supposedly, they first time the words "Heavy Metal" were used to describe music, it was the music of Alice Cooper. I don't know that is true, and I don't know that it isn't.

There is actually a documentary on Heavy Metal, entitled Metal: A Headbanger's Journey from 2005, that was actually produced by a guy with a degree in anthropology. It is where that bit on Cooper and "Heavy Metal" come from. I have only seen the trailer, but it is on my list of things to watch. What Chicago can do to avoid going further down the path to destruction

An Epic Failure of the Victim-selection Process

And concealed carry in Philadelphia is apparently a thing, and for good reason. Man attempting armed robbery shot dead by victim in West Oak Lane, police say

A 25-year-old man with a permit to carry a concealed firearm was walking in the area of 15th Street and 70th Avenue just before 7 p.m. when the 32-year-old — identified on Wednesday as Jamal Reeves — got out of a burgundy Ford sedan and announced a robbery while pointing his gun at the younger man, Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

The 25-year-old then pulled out his own gun and fired multiple times, striking Reeves three times in the torso, Small said.

The woman driving the car took off, and police found the vehicle abandoned a short distance away.

The guy who got shot was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

A police department spokesperson on Wednesday said the 25-year-old was not expected to be charged.

Because self-defense is a human-right, and apparently it is also your legal right in Philadelphia.

How Is That Bail Reform Working Out?

CWB Chicago is still counting problems with bail reform from 2021, because those problems are still coming to light. #76: Man who fired shots, then killed a woman in North Center car crash was on felony bail, prosecutors say - CWB Chicago

The Judge responsible for this mess in Cook County/Chicago said that his bail reforms hadn't caused any "bad outcomes." Would we consider murder to be a bad outcome?

Early on October 3, 2021, a Toyota Camry rolled to a stop at the red light at Damen and Irving Park. Its driver fired several shots at a car that was two lanes over, then sped away, only to run a red light a half-mile down the road and collide with an SUV, killing a woman inside. The driver ran away.

On Wednesday prosecutors charged Ollonzo Wilson, 38, with being the person responsible for the shooting and the car crash. He was on bail for a felony drug charge, and he had skipped his court date. He also had other drug convictions.

Wilson is the 76th person accused of killing or trying to kill someone in Chicago during 2021 while on felony bail. The cases involve at least 113 victims, 32 of whom died.

So do we call a shooting and a dead bystander a bad outcome, or do we agree with the Social Justice Warriors in Chicago who maintain that keeping criminals in jail is unfair?

Georgia Is a Bad Place for Home Invaders

He suffered a failure of the victim-selection process. Gwinnett homeowner shot by home invaders shoots, kills suspect

Gwinnett County, Georgia is just to the northeast of Atlanta. The county line is at most a couple of miles from the I-285 beltway that runs around that city.

A homeowner traded shots with a home invader. The homeowner drove himself to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, where he spoke to police.

The victim said there was someone else shot at the home. Police went to the home, where they found Leon Summers, of Stone Mountain, dead.

Detectives said they believe the victim shot Summers in self-defense.

The police don't make determinations of charges, but Georgia has a history of recognizing the legal right to defend yourself. And self-defense is a human-right, no matter what any state may or may not believe.

Free pizza and a chance to skip school. What self-respecting high-school or middle-school student would pass that up?

The protesters — not just middle schoolers, but also local adult activists and high-school students — held signs that read “Protect Trans Kids.” They called for “justice” for a Lenape teacher who had been suspended, seemingly for filing a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights on behalf of a bullied transgender student.

Protesters disrupted school. A couple of adult activists who’d helped to organize the protests drove around the school sounding their horns, and jumping curbs to evade the police.

You can click thru for the details.

There was an extensive investigation. But it didn't prove what the protesters wanted it to prove.

According to the firm’s report, there is no epidemic of LGBTQ bullying in Central Bucks or at Lenape Middle School, and when there are accusations of bullying, the district’s leaders promptly address them. The report states that Burgess was not, in fact, disciplined for filing a complaint on behalf of a trans student, but rather for manipulating vulnerable students, and for intentionally hiding serious bullying allegations from school leaders.

There has to be hate to fight against. So if there isn't hate, it has to be manufactured. (Hat tip to Lawrence Person's BattleSwarm Blog)

The baby was white. There is no description of the two teens because they are not legal adults.

Soft-on-crime policies have led to a vast increase in crime throughout the City of Chicago. Violent crime has risen 37 percent in the past year alone, with theft, burglary, and robbery crimes seeing the greatest increase. There has been a 100 percent increase of fatal shootings in the city between 2020 and 2021. The city's new far-left mayor, Brandon Johnson, a progressive endorsed by Bernie Sanders, recently blamed the historic crime crisis on businesses not paying taxes, instead of the failed progressive policies that has led to the increase in crime.

Everybody who can, should be heading for the exits in the Blue cities. It isn't safe today. It isn't going to be better in 2 years.

California Becoming a 3rd-world State

From The Other McCain we get the following. News From Zimbabwe, U.S.A.

No matter how prosperous any place might ever have been, once its government is taken over by thievish, corrupt parasites, its future will become a tale of misery, chaos and despair. Such is the sadly predictable fate of California, where the Democratic Party’s stranglehold on power has produced a lawless nightmare wasteland from which honest people are fleeing.

The exodus of taxpayers. The explosion of homelessness, coupled with drug use and crime. The maximum lockdowns and masking as the response to COVID, unless you worked in the TV/Movie industry of course, or were a politician, or ...

The politicians in charge of California have no interest in actually solving the state’s problems. The worse it gets, the more law-abiding and productive people leave California, the greater grows the power of the state’s Democratic Party.

Go read the whole thing.

A Tale of Two Six-year-olds

One shooting became national news, the other was completely (well, almost completely) ignored. Chicago shooting: 6-year-old girl, 33-year-old man shot inside Woodlawn home - CBS Chicago

You have probably heard of the six-year-old shot in North Carolina while retrieving a soccer ball from a neighbor's yard. The girl was white, and it happened in Suburbia. It became a media sensation. Twitter blew up, in part, because of this shooting.

The other six-year-old was shot in the Woodlawn neighborhood, on the south side of Chicago. I can't prove that it was ignored, but the only news stories I saw about the shooting were from local Chicago media outlets. Well, and HeyJackass! who noted the shooting in the weekend stats.

The Chicago shooting: As I said, it was only covered by Chicago local news outlets.

Just after 5 p.m., the two were inside the home in the 6600 block of South Drexel Avenue with who police describe as two "known offenders." At least one had a gun and started shooting.

The girl was sturck and taken to Comer Children's Hospital in Chicago, the man was taken to The University of Chicago Medical Center, a trauma center not far from Woodlawn in Hyde Park.

There was also another shooting of a child over the weekend in Chicago. It also seems to have been ignored. That victim was "about 3." That shooting was in Calumet Heights, another Chicago Neighborhood that is on the south side of the city.

No information is given on race, and I couldn't find any photos of the victims in the few news stories I saw. According to the WiKi - always a questionable source - the population of Woodlawn was 82.3% black as of 2008, and Calumet Heights was 93.47% black in 2015. Odds are that the victims of these crimes were black.

Now despite the fact that cops apparently know who did the shooting in the case of the 6-year-old from Chicago, no one is in custody.

So why is one 6-year-old being shot national news, and another being shot ignored. Is the media really that racist, to care about a white death shooting more than a black death shooting? Is it that one story supports a narrative, and the other only highlights the breakdown of civilization?

How to Provide the Least Information Possible in a Case of Self-defense

If there was any more left out of this article, they wouldn't have written it. KCSO: Man shot another on Barnett Street in self-defense

It's like they couldn't even be bothered to ask a couple of questions.

Oh, and "Professional Journalists" still have trouble distinguishing the victims from the criminals who attack them.

An investigation showed a man forced his way into a house on Barnett Street and another man shot him to defend the homeowner, KCSO said. A gun was recovered, and no one has been arrested.

Was the gun recovered from the would-be bad guy? Was the gun the one used in legal self-defense? Was this a domestic-violence incident (it sounds like one to me), or what? Based on the "reporting" that has been done by The Bakersfield Californian we may never know the answers to these questions. It's almost like once the reporter found out this was legal self-defense, and wouldn't help advance the Agenda™ of the Left, the completely unbiased observer lost their interest in the story.

Maybe more information will come to light, but probably not by way of this news outlet (so called).

So When Does This Rise to the Level of Interfering in an Election?

Or should we just assume that everyone who has ever been associated with government is a lying whore? Biden campaign pushed spies to write false Hunter laptop letter

In private sworn testimony, Morell told the House Judiciary Committee that Antony Blinken, now secretary of state, was the senior campaign official who reached out to him “on or before” Oct. 17, 2020, three days after The Post published an email from the laptop suggesting Hunter had introduced his Ukrainian business partner to his father, then-Vice President Biden.

Morell, identified as a potential CIA director under Biden, said he organized the letter to “help Vice President Biden … because I wanted him to win the election.”

Hat tip to LTG (R) Mike Flynn via Twitter:

Former deputy director of CIA Mike Morrell and all the others that signed this letter will go down in history as having been participants in the overthrow of the United States of America.

They have performed at various Goth and Industrial music festivals, which is why I know about them. (I've never seen them perform live.)

Again from The Other McCain - The Rontavious Factor

Keep in mind, I Googled “Rontavious + arrest” on the theory that Rontavious must be such a rare name that the search would automatically lead to stories about the Macon gun-store burglary, but apparently it’s far more common than I suspected.

Pixy Misa at Ambient Irony - Daily News Stuff 24 April 2024: Corncobs R Us Edition

Don't let them eat cake: The mental patients recently stripped of their little blue warning labels contrived a campaign to block every paid subscriber to Twitter. (Mashable)

The article quotes Dril, a guy famous for once saying something mildly amusing about corncobs.

Seriously, that's the kind of academic wizardry we're dealing with here. They got one tiny bit of unearned recognition and they'll burn down the planet before they allow anyone else to have what they did.

Zero Hedge - The Tower For Twitter? UK Minister Calls For Jailing Social Media Bosses Who Do Not Censor Speech

These officials proudly parade their intent to silence or jail those with dissenting views. Yet, they do so in the name of tolerance.

This is why free speech is in a free fall in Europe and why we must remain vigilant in this country to resist figures like Clinton who want to bring European censorship to our shores.

Harry Belafonte: 1 March 1927 to 25 April 2023

Rest in Peace.

Has he been forgotten? It seems that way. Harry Belafonte, Calypso King Who Worked for African-American Rights, Dies at 96

Singer, actor, producer and activist Harry Belafonte, who spawned a calypso craze in the U.S. with his music and blazed new trails for African-American performers, has died at his Manhattan home, according to the New York Times. He was 96.

This song is "Jamaica Farewell" by Harry Belafonte. I'm sure that when this spreads a bit, we will hear a lot of "Day-O," but I'm not sure I ever liked that song; it certainly is not his best.

Good Guys 3, Bad Guys 0

They Suffered from a breakdown of the Victim-selection Process. 1 of 3 Glasgow home invaders dead after homeowner shoots at them: Police.

Three guys decide it would be a great idea to rob a man in his home. One stays with the car, two go inside with at least one gun and threaten the homeowner.

New Castle County, Delaware is the county that includes Wilmington. It is about 15 or 20 miles to Philadelphia, depending where in the county this incident took place. Being between Philadelphia and Baltimore is not somewhere I would want to be today.

[The two guys] threatened the victim with a gun and "began removing miscellaneous property" from the house, police said.

As they were doing this, police said, the victim got a gun and shot at both Everett and the 25-year-old.

The homeowner was shot in the exchange. The 25-year-old died at the scene. 20-year-old Nadir Everett, of Philadelphia, was shot multiple times, and was driven to a local hospital by 24-year-old Malik Dennison, of Newark. Those two were arrested at the hospital.

Both of the guys who were arrested face numerous charges, including assault and gun charges.

This all happened in Delaware not Texas, but Delaware does have a history of recognizing your right to defend yourself. There was no mention of charging the homeowner.

And in any event, self-defense is a human-right.

Hat tip to Granite Grok: Second Amendment Happy Ending Story – When You Decide to Invade a House That Isn’t Yours…

We know that the Second Amendment doesn’t exist simply for self-defense but there are too many evil people out there that believe they can do bad things to you without retribution. Being closer to 70 than 60, there are a lot of younger men out there against whom I’d never stand a chance in a physical confrontation. Especially in the dark of night in MY home where and when these folks are not invited. So when I see a story like this, I smile.

How Is That Bail Reform Working Out

Not too well if you look at the victims. #5: Convicted murderer killed 2, wounded 1 while on electronic monitoring for gun possession, prosecutors say - CWB Chicago

Prosecutors say a Chicago man sentenced to life in prison in 1983, only to be resentenced and released in 2016, killed two people and tried to kill a third while he was on electronic monitoring for a felony gun case Sunday morning.

He is the fifth person accused of killing or trying to kill someone in Chicago this year while awaiting trial for a felony. The cases involve seven victims, four of whom died.

Five may not seem like a big number, but it is early in the year. Remember, these people have been arrested twice this year for felonies, and it isn't the end of April. Not that they've only committed 2 felonies, but they have been ARRESTED for two felonies.

But She's Friends with the Mayor, So She Stays

If you want to know what is wrong with NYPD, this is the culture of the department in summary. NYPD employee relations boss Lisa White drives workers away

She's a nut, but she is a friend of the mayor. She's unqualified, but she has a hook in city hall.

More than 10 cops working under Deputy Commissioner Lisa White — who’s in charge of officer morale in the 35,000 uniformed member force — have either transferred or asked to be transferred out of her office because of her off-the-wall shenanigans, including claiming there are ghosts in her office and that workers are bugging her phone, police sources told The Post.

The final straw for one of them, a detective assigned to drive her in a department-assigned Ford SUV, came when White, 61, ordered the cop to turn on the lights and sirens because she was late for work.

Rules are of the Little People, not for friends of the mayor.

She says that people are bugging her phone and her office. She says that there are ghosts in her office. And more.

A third source bemoaned her lack of knowledge about the NYPD and how everything had to be explained to her when she started the job.

“This person has zero qualifications and knew nothing about the position,” the source said. “It was like talking to a child. . . . I don’t blame her. Who wouldn’t take this job if they had a friend that was going to just give it to them?”

A job that pays $241,000 a year.

Why anyone would want to work for the NYPD, or the city of New York where this kind of BS is standard operating procedure is beyond me. Doesn't forcing the police to hire your personal friend fall under the heading of political corruption?

Shakeups at Fox and CNN

From The Other McCain we get the following. Major (and Also Minor) Media News

Today I was watching CNN (so you don’t have to) when, just after noon, they reported that Tucker Carlson and Fox News have “parted ways.” Then they brought on the despicable Oliver Darcy to engage in unsubstantiated speculation as to why Carlson — the top-rated host in cable news for the past six years — had left Fox. But does anyone actually care what Oliver Darcy thinks?

Then it came to light that Don Lemon was out at CNN.

So, that is the major media news of the day, and as for the minor media, well, Don Lemon finally got fired from CNN

Opus Of The Night

Kamelot, a Power Metal (sometimes I think they are Symphonic Metal) band from the Tampa Bay Area, released a new album in March. I didn't notice at the time, but let's listen to a bit of new music.

I have only listened to 2 songs off the album as I type this, so I can't tell you if I like it or not. But let's listen to some music and you can decide what you think.

This is "Opus Of The Night (Ghost Requiem)" by Kamelot featuring vocals by by Tina Guo. It is from their March 2023 album The Awakening.

A Failure of the Victim-selection Process

They probably thought that there was safety in numbers. They were wrong. Suspect shot seven times in botched home invasion in Bethlehem,

During the home invasion, which occurred at approximately 4 a.m. in the 2000 block of Willow Park Road, four men broke into the residence where three occupants were present.

In an act of self-defense, one of the occupants shot defendants Matas and Ferrando.

Three of the four men are in custody; one of them is still on the run.

There are more details at the link, including the list of charges each defendant will face, and a statement from District Attorney Houck who is on board with the whole self-defense thing.

Will NYC DA Bragg Be Held to Account?

Somehow I doubt it. He is everything the Woke Idiots in NYC vote for. Anti-Semitic attack victim will testify in House hearing on DA Bragg

Joseph Borgen was walking to a pro-Israel rally in Manhattan when he was attacked by a group of men. By their names, they are Muslim, though a New York City media outlet would never point that out explicitly.

The hearing will examine how Bragg’s “pro-crime, anti-victim policies have led to an increase in violent crime and a dangerous community for New York City residents,” according to the Republican-controlled committee.

When the police caught up with the assailants, DA Bragg couldn't be bothered to seek justice.

“It’s disgusting how Mr. Bragg calls himself a crime fighter, the man does nothing,” Borgen’s father, Barry Borgen, told The Post in January.

“He offered people who tried to kill my son six months in jail, one guy to walk away because maybe he hit him once. It is a hate crime,” he added.

But the victim in this crime is Jewish, and Jews don't rate to high on the Social Justice Warriors/Woke Idiots scale of victimhood, where as Muslims do. Bragg couldn't be expected to do anything except throw the Jewish community under the bus, let the Muslims walk free, and then wring his hands at the increase in antisemitic crimes and say he is doing everything he can.

Which is a lie; Bragg is doing exactly nothing to fight crime.

They Just Wanted to Kill Someone

Weep for the state of the culture. ‘They just wanted to kill somebody:’ Suspects had no ties to handyman slain in Kenner, police say

The victim -- 66-year-old Lawrence Herr of Metairie -- was fixing a mailbox in front of a home when police say Tahj Matthews, 23, and Maurice Holmes, 25, fatally shot him.

“One of them made a statement that they just wanted to kill somebody that day,” said Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley.

You can click thru for the details.

So what is wrong with the culture that this is they way two people decide to spend the afternoon?

The two men were caught with the aid of surveillance video from the neighborhood. Tahj Matthews and Maurice Holmes were apprehended and booked on first-degree murder charges.

Hollywood Is a Bunch of Groomers

National Review reports what everyone knows. Hollywood Is a Sex-Grooming Gang

If you’re tempted to turn away from the torrent of squalid news that continues to flow out of Hollywood, resist the temptation. The more of these revolting exposes you read, the more clearly you will see the underlying monstrosity in Hollywood, as clearly as the hero of John Carpenter’s They Live sees aliens disguised as everyday people when he puts on the sunglasses.

From former CBS chief Les Moonves, to Weinstein, and a few in between. Descriptions of what young actresses were put through. The penalty for not "getting with the program was having your career destroyed.

They knew. They all knew. The men knew. The women knew. The potted plants certainly knew. Nobody said anything. They didn’t want to jeopardize their next gig. “Nobody says anything” is more like it. It’s show-merta. “Hollywood mafia” isn’t a joke anymore: These acts alleged by so many actresses are crimes. This was a systematic criminal enterprise in which untold numbers of people either abetted felonies or did not report them, with money clawed away from publicly traded corporations repeatedly used to buy silence.

This joke from Seth MacFarlane is telling. That he would say this at the Academy Awards ceremony and only get nervous laughter is sad.

Self-defense Is Legal in St. Louis

Though the cops don't like it when you insinuate they might shoot you. St. Louis jury finds man acted in self-defense, acquits him of murder

He shot a man on his front porch. Cops didn't like the fact that he didn't do what they said the instant they said it.

Barge then went back inside his house to retrieve his cell phone, but by the time he was ready to come out, police had arrived. Peddicord said. Barge waited in the house until police assured him they would not shoot if he came out.

So he spent 9 months in jail, awaiting trial.

This week, after a one-day trial, Barge was acquitted.

Will the DA and/or the cops have to answer for anything? Of course not. (Hat tip to Keep and Bear Arms.)

Former Sheriff on Los Angeles' Homeless Problem

California Insider has become one of my favorite podcasts/video channels. Maybe it is just the schadenfreude for everything wrong with California, and there is a lot wrong.

This video actually gets a hat tip, to Lawrence Person's BattleSwarm Blog: Ex-LA Sheriff Alex Villanueva Discusses The Homeless Industrial Complex. The video below is 33 minutes, if you don't have time for that, I suggest reading the summary for Lawrence Person.

Here is one point, among many.

You’ve got a whole community of people that are in the 501c3s, the non-profits, and uh Boards of Directors, CEOs. The amount of money is pouring into the nonprofits is just incredible. There’s no governance, there’s no oversight, there’s no accountability on the results. They just keep shoveling money at them, and the problem keeps getting worse and worse.

It Seems Self-defense Is Legal in North Carolina

Even 911 callers seem to think this is self-defense. Gastonia shooting outside Buddha's Bazaar may have been self defense

The shooting was reported about 11:45 a.m. Wednesday outside Buddha's Bazaar, a hemp shop on East Franklin Boulevard.

In a 911 call, a caller said that the shooting may have been self defense.

"The guy with the gun is the good guy. We saw him being chased by the guy with the knife," the caller said.

Police didn't arrest anyone, but they are not done with the investigation.

Self-defense is a human-right, and it appears it may be your legal right in North Carolina.

A Grown Adult Stabs an 11 Year-old Over Insult

This is one of the more insane stories that Leon has covered. And Ruined Leon specializes in covering the insanity that defines life in modern America.

Here's a news story if you want more details. 11 Year Old Stabbed at a Dollar Tree After Calling Man 'NPC'.

If you've been living under a rock, you might not know that NPC stands for "non-playable character." It is a video game term, that has become an insult meaning someone who doesn't think for themselves, but gets all of their thoughts from the media and/or talking points from whatever group you despise.

This is what Leon had to say at one point in the video:

I understand that we live in a world where people don't agree with one another, and I'm not going to bore you by saying, "We should all talk to one another; we should all understand." Fuck that noise. I'm here to tell that there are going to people who will disagree. There are going to be people who don't like what you're saying. And guess what? There is really nothing you can do, except move along.

This is Ruined Leon's video Stabbing An 11 Year Old For Saying NPC.

Breaking the Girl

1991 was an amazing year for music. Mettalica released The Black Album. Red Hot Chili Peppers released the album Blood Sugar Sex Magik. Soundgarden released Badmotorfinger. And there was so much more. If you were listening to the radio in 1991 and 1992, you know songs off those albums. Grunge was going on in Seattle, and more stuff was happening.

Today we have song from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. That band changed the music scene, as they were one of the first to put Alternative Rock in the mainstream. You probably heard this song on the radio, but you definitely heard other songs from this album.

It has been long enough that I had to look up the lyrics. Here's a link.

Twisting and turning
Your feelings are burning
You're breaking the girl
(She meant you no harm)

This is "Breaking the Girl" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, from the 1991 album Blood Sugar Sex Magik.

Another Story That Will Be Memory-holed

Oh, and I suppose I should mention that today I am once again watching CNN (so you don’t have to), and it seems the network lost interest in the Dadeville mass shooting just about the time cops released the mug shots of the suspects. Coincidence? I don’t think so.

I don't have to spell out why this doesn't push the narrative forward.

Students Across America Have Discovered Chess

Teachers Nationwide Are Flummoxed By Students’ Newfound Chess Obsession

Across the country, students from second grade to senior year have stumbled across a new obsession, which is, in fact, a centuries-old game. Interviews with teachers and students in eight states paint a picture of captivated students squeezing games in wherever and whenever they can: at lunch, at recess and illicitly during lessons, a phenomenon that is at once bemusing, frustrating and delighting teachers.

Data from Chess.com, whose usership is the highest it’s ever been, and anecdotal evidence nationwide suggest a fervid, growing base of young users.

And it is about time that Americans rediscovered chess. The last time was around the 1972 World Championship match between Boris Spassky of the USSR and Bobby Fischer of the USA. That was a Cold War match up that was not to be believed.

The Democrats, ironically, have deployed the platitude that President Donald Trump’s indictment shows “no one is above the law.” Republicans easily counter with a slew of Democrats who are obviously above the law: the Biden, Clinton, and Obama criminal organizations and their cargo shiploads of reported illegal activities.

The Other McCain again - Teens Charged in Dadeville Massacre

In the immediate aftermath of the massacre, before we had any information about the suspects, my brother Kirby speculated that social media might have played a role in this. Maybe someone who had a beef with the McCullough brothers had posted something saying they’d be at this party, and that’s why they showed up in Dadeville. They do it all the time and suffer no real consequences, so they continue to do it. Because what’s stopping them, really? And today, the mainstream media misinformation machine struck again in epic fashion. Recently, The Washington Post sent out a newsletter with a top story about a teen boy, Ralph Yarl, who was shot by an 84-year-old man when the boy knocked on his door. Now, the facts are still few and far between, so I’m not going to speculate about details that we don’t know. But what we do know is that Ralph Yarl did not die. And yet, that’s exactly what The Washington Post story claimed.

Again from The Other McCain - Portland Is Now a ‘No-Go Zone’

Progressivism incentivizes “victimhood ideology” — which is to say, it encourages self-pity and envy — no matter the racial composition of the populace. This is why you find so many aggrieved radicals among the students at “elite” private universities. Students at Harvard, Yale, etc., aren’t rioting because they’re oppressed; they’re rioting because they’re privileged.
