I'm guessing that this is not how he saw things working out. Deadly home invasion shooting under investigation in Scott County
A homeowner called police to report an attempted home invasion.
According to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, preliminary reports show the homeowner acted to protect themselves when they were alerted about the intrusion and fired four shots at the suspect.
All four shots hit the suspect who died at the scene.
Scott County, Missouri is about 100 miles south of Saint Louis, or about 120 miles north of Memphis, Tennessee.
The Sheriff's Department is treating this like self-defense, but it is the DA who will have the final say about charges.
Self-defense is a human right.
I wrote this up a 2nd time, before I saw "Scott County." So here is a little more info. I had titled this post, "Don't bring brass knuckles to a gunfight."

An armed homeowner shot and killed a deranged brass-knuckle-wielding Missouri home invader who dared him to “kill” him, according to authorities.
John Fisher, 31, of East Prairie, Missouri, used brass knuckles to break the front door of the home of Austin Glastetter at 11:30 p.m. Thursday, KFVS12 reported.
This didn't happen in NYC, so cops are treating like a justified case of self-defense.
“The homeowner’s actions appear to have been justified in defense of themselves and their household. The safety and protection of one’s home is a fundamental right,” Sheriff Derick Wheetley said in a statement.
Self-defense is a human right.
