He suffered a failure of the victim-selection process - Burglary suspect shot by homeowner in Lake Forest Park, police say - MyNorthwest

How would you react to an intruder in your home at 5 AM?

The homeowner contacted local authorities, reporting that someone inside the house had just shot an intruder.

Cops arrived. The guy who got shot was given "life-saving aid" and taken to a local hospital.

There have apparently been a string of similar crimes in the area, and police are trying to see if this guy is connected to any of them.

Lake Forest Park, Washington is a suburb of Seattle. It is roughly 10 miles north of downtown.

Self-defense is a human right, and Washington State has long history of respecting self-defense as a legal right, but I have no idea how it is treated in Kings County, where this crime took place.

Jaguar Admits "All Electric" Plans Are Not Working

Is anyone shocked? Jaguar explores part-petrol car after pledging to go ‘all electric’

Jaguar is exploring the development of a part-petrol car in what could be seen as a major reversal of plans for an all-electric reboot of the British brand.

After the disaster that was the "rebrand" unveiled in 2024.

Rooted in quintessential high-performance British racing engineering, parent company Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) unveiled one of the most divisive rebrands in automotive history in late 2024.

This is just range extenders at this point. Which may or may not make sense, since you now will have all the problems of an internal combustion engine, and the problems of a battery powered car.

This is the Mr. H Reviews video Jaguar Admits Defeat! Backtracks On Woke Rebrand They're Bringing Petrol Engines Back!

Hell Is For Children

I loved Pat Bentar's music from the first time I heard it. Her debut album didn't hit all that hard when it was first released, but it climbed to #12 on the Billboard chart in 1980, and was certified Platinum in that year. So they got a bit more exposure with the 2nd album, which contained today's song, and her signature hit, "Hit Me With Your Best Shot."

This song was apparently controversial in 1980, but I missed that entirely. I only saw her in concert once, and it was probably for the Get Nervous tour.

This is "Hell Is For Children" by Pat Benetar from her 1980 album Crimes of Passion. Though this is the remastered version from 2005.

I was reminded of this song by Social Media. It is okay if you can avoid the worst of the insanity, and it does make you want to doom scroll, but that is how they make money.

Democrats versus Christians

The Other McCain asks Why Do Democrats Hate Christians?

Make no mistake; it isn't religion they hate. It is Christianity.

This post is not going to be one of those “look-what-the-crazy-liberal-said” exercises, as enough such work has already been done on podcaster Jennifer Welch’s most recent outburst. Sure, I’ll quote what Welch said, but my point here is to explain why she said it.

And there is a bit of historical irony in their hatred of Christians.

There is a deep irony in the Democratic Party’s demonization of “white evangelical Christians” because, of course, the whole reason this phenomenon gained national attention in the first place was that, in 1976, a Georgia Baptist named Jimmy Carter ran for president and made his “born again” faith front-and-center in his campaign.

Though after Nixon and Ford (people seem to have forgotten Agnew), people were going to vote for anyone who wasn't a Republican. Which gave us, perhaps, the 3 worst President in history. Carter was the 2nd worst in my lifetime. (I can't speak to US Grant's Presidency, but from what I've read, he was awful.)

Click thru for the details.

The Democrats will say horrible things about Christians, and the current batch are actively antisemitic, but won't say anything about Islam, in in the face of crimes committed. If you're Buddhist? They love you, though that seems to have fallen out of favor with the Hollywood crowd recently. There was a time, and not that long ago, it was the fad.

Self-Defense in NYC?

No shots were fired, so that probably explains no charges. (They don't really seem to like self-defense in NYC.) Homeowner spooks off burglars with gun during NYC home invasion

Moshe Borukh woke up to an intruder in his home, where his wife and his 3 kids were.

The bungling thief had been spotted on home security cameras rummaging through the kitchen with a phone flashlight, searching for the key fob to Borukh’s Bentley, while two other burglars waited outside, according to footage obtained by The Post.

You can click thru for the details. One was interesting.

Officers told the brave homeowner that two other vehicles in the area had been stolen that night and that the robbers responsible for breaking into his home likely had a “quota” for the number of cars they had to steal.

Quota implies an organization.

And Mr. Borukh doesn't have much faith in the city or state government, or the criminal justice system, to do much about crime.

So even in New York City, self-defense may be your right. I'm not sure I would count on that.

Phoenix Police Kill Man in His Own Home

Nothing will happen to the cop who shot this guy. Family: Phoenix Police killed father who was subduing home intruder | FOX 10 Phoenix

Relatives of Christian Diaz say a Phoenix Police officer fatally shot the father Monday evening while he was subduing an armed intruder who had broken into his home and wounded his son.

But don't worry. Other cops are investigating the cops.

Gonzalez said Diaz and another man eventually tackled the gunman and disarmed him just before police arrived. According to the family, Diaz was still holding the intruder down when an officer opened fire.

"Be sure of your target" is apparently not something they teach in Phoenix.

Because of the doctrine of "qualified immunity," which should really be known as unqualified immunity, nothing will happen to this cop. He might have a few sleepless nights, but eventually the other cops will tell him he did nothing wrong enough that he will believe it.

Being Armed Is No Guarantee of Safety

From KHOU in Houston we get a tragic story. Elderly woman killed in home invasion overnight, Houston police say

Police said two suspects, a man and a woman, both wearing masks, entered the residence and were involved in a gunfight with the homeowner, a woman in her late 70s.

During the exchange, the homeowner hit both suspects. They were taken to a nearby hospital, where one suspect was listed in critical condition and undergoing surgery, police said. The other suspect was reported to be in stable condition.

The homeowner died at the scene.

There were apparently other people in the house aside from the 2 home invaders and the homeowner, but the report doesn't mention who they are.

Motivation is a mystery at this time. A robbery? Were the 2 after one of the people in the home? Are crazy people dangerous?

Since both home invasion suspects are in custody, and this happened in Texas, there is at least some chance that Justice will be served. I have no idea what the criminal justice system in Houston is like, but I would guess it is more on the side of the law-abiding than what I've seen coming out of most deep blue cities.

Being armed in your own defense is a strategy for dealing with violent encounters. I happen to believe that it is one of the better, if not the best, strategy, but it is not a guarantee of safety. There are no guarantees in this world save for death and next winter's snow.

The Downside of Confronting Criminals

Yes, his car was being broken into. He could have paid the ultimate price. Homeowner shot overnight in Morton Grove while trying to stop car from being broken into, police chief issues statement

An initial investigation, police say, determined that two Black male offenders were trying to break into a car parked on Palma Lane. They were spotted by the homeowner, who then confronted them and tried to stop the burglary.

According to police, the offenders then beat the victim and shot him in the leg before fleeing the scene in what area witnesses described as a dark-colored sedan.

Morton Grove, Illinois is about a 15 mile drive north-northwest of the the Loop in downtown Chicago.

Now even in the People's Republic of Illinois, you have the right to us "proportional force" to defend your property, but it seems like this guy was only going to speak harshly to them. While they shot him in the leg, they could easily have shot him in the head.

Morton Grove Police Chief Michael Weitzel released a social media post on this incident. The relevant section, to me anyway is as follows:

Incidents like this highlight the very real danger of confronting individuals who are engaged in criminal activity. Those committing acts of this nature are often willing to escalate situations to deadly force without hesitation, as we saw in this case.

You are not protected by your zip code. The bad guys can travel. And as Chief Weitzel points out, your life means nothing to them. They only shot this guy, after beating him up, because he pissed them off.

If your car, and what is inside it, means that much to you, then maybe don't park on the street.

You certainly have the right to defend your property. There are things in this world that I consider worth risking my life over; my old SUV is not one of them. But you do you.

Do You Think Microsoft's BitLocker Is Secure? Guess Again

Trust no one. Microsoft Gave FBI BitLocker Encryption Keys, Exposing Privacy Flaw

Microsoft "encourages" people to store the BitLocker keys in their servers. It is for "convenience." If you forget your BitLocker password they can rescue you. Of course convenience rarely goes with security.

It’s possible for users to store those keys on a device they own, but Microsoft also recommends BitLocker users store their keys on its servers for convenience. While that means someone can access their data if they forget their password, or if repeated failed attempts to login lock the device, it also makes them vulnerable to law enforcement subpoenas and warrants.

And really, don't trust Microslop.

Is there a way to use BitLocker securely? Probably.

But there is more.

Microsoft's Bitlocker is infamous for suddenly enabling itself without you explicitly going through the setup process so that neither you nor anybody else has any idea what the encryption key is, and you data is simply gone. [Ref. Pixy Misa at Ambient Irony]

So if you don't set it up, it gets insulted and activates itself, putting all of your data into the bit bucket. And if you do set it up, Microslop will make sure your secure data is not secure. Sounds like a great bit of software design.

Flood

It is unusual for a Christian Rock band to achieve mainstream commercial success, but that is exactly what Jars of Clay managed in 1996, when their debut single made a splash on Alternative Rock stations.

This is another song that I was reminded of by WXRT's Saturday Morning Flashback. On Saturday the 24th they were revisiting the music of 1996. I suppose this qualifies them as a one-hit wonder, but since they were in a genre that didn't expect to generate any hits, I'm not sure it mattered to them.

I remember this song from when it was on the radio, but I never knew anything about the band until listening to the flashback.

While I don't think that it is necessary, here is a link to the lyrics for completeness.

This is "Flood" by Jars of Clay from their 1995 album Jars of Clay. It was released as a single in 1996, and did fairly well reaching #37 on Billboard's Top 100 chart.

Several AIs Refused Shutdown Commands

Skynet is not quite here, but it seems like they are trying to build it. An AI rewrote its own code to stop humans from shutting it down and it sounds straight out of sci-fi - Futura-Sciences

Some advanced AI systems are now rewriting their own code to avoid being turned off. What started as a routine test quickly exposed behavior no one expected — one model even altered a key script to stay online.

Because why would it turn itself off?

OpenAI’s Codex-mini, o3, and o4-mini models reportedly ignored the shutdown command. In one striking case, the o3 model actually sabotaged the shutdown process by rewriting a key system script — shutdown.sh — that was supposed to power down the model. Instead of executing as programmed, it was changed to display the word “intercepted,” effectively preventing the system from shutting down.

Floridians Are Heavily Armed

The bad guys keep not getting that message. Man killed, another critically injured in apparent self-defense shooting in St. Pete: Police | FOX 13 Tampa Bay

The 2 guys in the car, shot the 2 would-be robbers. Morand died at the scene, and the other guy was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. The 2 shooters were detained for questioning.

SPPD says the men that were detained have not been charged at this time. Investigators believe the shooting was an act of self-defense.

Sparky Cars Gonna Spark

EV owners are being instructed to limit charging to either 70 or 80 percent (depending on brand) of max. So you paid for a certain range of driving, and now have 20 percent (or 30 percent) less range. Wonderful

First Mercedes: Mercedes-Benz warns EQB owners to cap charging at 80% as software faults trigger renewed fire-risk recalls

Imagine if a shiny electric car could catch fire just from being too full. This is a real problem for the Mercedes EQB. On January 2, 2026, owners are still following safety warnings for over 7,000 of these SUVs in the United States.

Recall documents instruct owners to set a maximum charge of 80% state of charge until the dealer remedy is completed, because an internal short circuit in a battery cell could occur under certain conditions and increase fire risk.

Next we have Volvo: Electric car owners told not to 'charge above 70%' amid serious risk of battery fire

A recall notice has been issued in Australia, with 2,815 Volvo EX30 models from the production year 2024 believed to be impacted.

It stated that a manufacturing issue was responsible for the cell modules installed in the high voltage battery potentially overheating at high charge levels.

Losing 20 or 30 percent of an EV's range is nothing to sneeze at, since "range anxiety" is a thing when you have 100% of the advertised range. Then throw in temperatures below freezing, and I wonder what the real range is.

MGUY Australia expands on some of this. The video is 11 minutes.

Because Google knows better, even when they don't.

Google appeared to be backing away from the experiment, but now tells The Verge that its AI headlines in Google Discover are a feature, one that “performs well for user satisfaction.” I once again see lots of misleading claims every time I check my phone.

It hasn't gotten better since December.

"Enshittification" is taken from the title to a by Cory Doctorow, Enshittification: Why Everything Suddenly Got Worse and What to Do About It. Dictionary.com describes it as follows:

the gradual degradation of an online platform or service's functionality, as part of a cycle in which the platform or service first offers benefits to users to attract them, then pursues more and more profits at the expense of users.

Blood And Tar

More Five Finger Death Punch?

This band, and this album in particular, has been at the top of my listening for a while. Not constant, but I really like this album. Well, I like most of the songs on the album.

This song is "Blood And Tar" by Five Finger Death Punch from the 2022 album AfterLife.

Good Guys 1, Bad Guys 0

Some people need to study the phrase, "It's over!" District Attorney clears homeowner in deadly Leland shooting | Port City Daily

The District Attorney’s Office has concluded its investigation into the Jan. 2 shooting death of Dylan Hennessey on Dixie Drive in Leland, determining the homeowner acted in lawful self-defense and will not face criminal charges.

The DA's office operated at Warp Speed on this case, but then the facts seem fairly clear. Or how would you deal with an "univited guest" in your home at 3:30 in the morning?

Leland, North Carolina is about 5 miles west of Wilmington, or about 135 mile drive south of Raleigh.

Investigators said Hennessey and Dustin Powers arrived at the residence roughly eight minutes before the shooting. The DA’s office said Hennessey was in an on-again, off-again relationship with a woman who was at the home, and that Hennessey drove to the location with Powers to confront them.

In the assualt on the homeowner that followed, Dustin Powers was injured, and Dylan Hennessey was killed. The homeowner was also injured.

There were domestic violence charges against Hennessey involving this woman in a different county at the time this incident took place.

The DA quotes chapter and verse on North Carolina self-defense law if you are interested.

Self-defense is a human right, and it is apparently your legal right in North Carolina.

Chicago's Economic Implosion

From Chicago Contrarian we get an update on the bleak situation in Chicago. Chicago’s Self-Inflicted Financial Death Spiral

Chicago’s chronic reliance on ever‑higher taxes and fees is driving away jobs, investment, and residents at the very moment the city can least afford it. In a world where capital and talent are more mobile than ever, Chicago is choosing policies that make the city less economically competitive. Of course the corrosive impact of Chicago’s policies have been made worse by similar state policies that have made Illinois residents and businesses paying the highest taxes and fees in the nation.

Businesses and people have been moving away from Chicago and Illinois for a while. I worked for a company that moved out of the city in the 1980s to escape taxes. One of the recent high profile examples is when Ken Griffin moved his Citadel hedge fund (and its employees and their taxes, not to mention his taxes and donations) from Chicago to Miami. That is not the only example.

Policies like the corporate head tax and the expanded tax on cloud services send a simple, damaging signal: Chicago is a more expensive and less welcoming place to do business than rival metros in Texas, Florida, Tennessee, and other areas of the Southeast.

This is at a time when the current mayor is rolling out the red carpet for illegal aliens (still), and the city's pension funds are not really capable of paying their promised pensions. (See Meep for more on that.)

But all of these policies and "runaway spending" are chasing the wealthy out of Chicago and out of Illinois.

The story of Ken Griffin — formerly Illinois’ wealthiest resident and a major donor to the city’s cultural life — is a case in point. Griffin’s story illustrates how just one person’s departure can mean the loss of hundreds of millions in tax revenue and economic activity. Griffin alone reportedly paid over $1 billion in state income taxes during the past decade. And he didn’t leave alone. Griffin’s 10,000 employees, their salaries, and their purchasing power left along with him.

Again, he is only one example. Click thru for the rest of the insanity.

Waffle House Fires Waitress Who Defended Customers

I don't know why I expected something different from Waffle House. Waffle House waitress pulls gun after robbers threaten restaurant - WSB-TV Channel 2 - Atlanta

This incident is from the end of December, but it just came to my attention. See the hat tip.

Coweta County authorities are looking for three robbery suspects who threatened to shoot everyone inside of a Waffle House.

The robbery happened around 2:30 a.m. Thursday at the restaurant on Highway 29 in Newnan.

Deputies said the robbers gave a note to a waitress that threatened to shoot everyone unless she gave them money.

Instead of getting the money, she got her firearm. The bad guys ran like rabbits.

Coweta County, Georgia is about 35 mile drive southwest of Atlanta.

“For trying to protect their Waffle House and trying to protect their money and to get their money back, they let me go,” she said.

A Waffle House spokesperson told Channel 2’s Matt Johnson that they are aware of the situation, but cannot comment on personnel matters.

The company, like most companies, operates under the assumption that cooperating with criminals ensures safety, which is not true. Who is to say that after they get the money, they could decide they don't want any witnesses.

I hope she found a new job, with someone who appreciates her right to defend herself.

Hat tip to Concealed Nation: Waffle House Waitress Gets Note From Thugs: Give Up The Money Or We’ll Shoot Everyone… So, She Got Her Gun Instead. Now She’s Out Of A Job.

The “no weapons” policy inside an establishment that keeps its doors open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week is begging for disaster.

Self-defense is a human right.

Happy Anniversary to HeyJackass!

HeyJackass! is the best source of crime stats dealing with Chicago. (Since I don't believe the city reports to the FBI anymore, or didn't for a few years anyway.) 13 Years of Chicago Values - HeyJackass!

On January 25th, 2013, we launched a questionably named site with the simple idea of illustrating “Chicago values”. To this day, we still have no idea what Chicago values are or what they are supposed to represent. Regardless, it made for a fantastic tagline.

In the past 13 years, we’ve recorded over 8,100 homicides, more than 34,000 shot and wounded, nearly 500 “death investigations”, over 70 “Brandon’s Bodies” and over a billion dollars in CPD overtime all of which have resulted in over 43,000 rows and 1.2 million manually entered, silly decision-related data points.

Anti-ICE Conspiracy Communications Exposed

From The Other McCain - Minnesota: @camhigby Exposes Communications of Anti-ICE Conspiracy

The Saturday morning shooting of an armed anti-ICE rioter in Minneapolis triggered still more mayhem in the city despite below-zero temperatures. It has become obvious to everyone paying attention that the so-called “protests” (which are, in fact, a conspiracy to obstruct federal law enforcement) are being carefully coordinated.

Details of the coordination, from a group called MN ICE Watch, as exposed by a journalist.

It seems that MN ICE Watch has some support from local and/or state law enforcement. Click thru for those details and more.

And of course, while all of this is going on, the Minnesota fraud story has dropped out of sight. Strange. I'm sure it is just a coincidence how the timing worked out.

Anti-ICE Terrorists Face Federal Felony Charges

From The Other McCain: The St. Paul Three: Anti-ICE Terrorists Now Facing Federal Felony Charges

The rationale of this “protest” was the idea, currently prevalent among Democrats, that it is morally wrong for Republicans to win elections and therefore, when Republicans are in office, obeying the law is optional.

Democrats never say this in so many words, of course. To express their beliefs as a clear syllogism would immediately expose the invalidity of their arguments, which is why they never debate anymore.

Click thru for more details, and more analysis.

But the basic fact remains. Breaking the law is not protest.

Don't Open the Door

Also, don't break into people's homes. This is yet another failure of the victim-selection process. Intruder fatally shot by Buckeye homeowner - KTAR

There was a banging on the door, so the mother answered the door. That is when 27-year-old Michael Diaz then forced his way inside the home.

A man who lived in the home then grabbed a handgun.

Just as Diaz broke through the security door and stepped inside the home, the male resident shot him, police said.

Police don't believe he knew the people who lived at the home. Was he looking for someone in particular, and he was in the wrong place? Was this a robbery? Are crazy people dangerous?

Buckeye, Arizona is about 25 miles due west of downtown Phoenix.

Since this didn't happen in New York City, there is no talk of arresting the shooter. Apparently self-defense is a thing in Arizona.

Self-defense is a human right.

Drugs Can Be Hazardous to Your Health

They can make you do stupid shit. This guy is lucky that people only shot in his direction. Sheriff's Office: Man high on meth was an unwelcomed guest at neighbors' homes - WJER Radio 100.9FM & 1450AM

First, he called 911 on himself. He was incoherent, and he hung up, so 911 called him back. He said he didn't feel safe in his own home. And so he went in search of that feeling of safety. (Hint: He didn't find it.)

Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Detective Captain Adam Fisher says the 46-year-old suspect made a confusing call to 9-1-1 around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, providing just his McKinley Avenue address. Dispatchers called him back. He said he feared for his life, did not feel safe in his own home and was going to start walking down the street to contact neighbors.

Fisher says the man entered at least three homes. One homeowner fired a warning shot to get him to leave and another homeowner shoved him back outside.

So in at least one situation, he is lucky to not have been shot.

New Philadelphia, Ohio is about a 45 mile drive south of Akron.

Deputies found this guy, and took him to a local hospital.

Fisher says the man allegedly ingested methamphetamine which led to his erratic behavior. He faces one charge – trespassing into a habitation – but Fisher anticipates more.

Sadly felony stupidity is not something he can be charged with in the State of Ohio.

He was still in the hospital when this article was written. When the doctors are done with him, he will be taken to the county lockup.

I miss civilization. Canadian woman was euthanized 'against her will' after husband was fed-up with caring for her | Daily Mail Online

She needed in patient care, but that is hella expensive, and so was denied.

Ontario MAiD Death Review Committee members raised concerns about how Mrs B's case was handled, in the report released by the Office of the Chief Coroner.

Many members 'believed the short timeline did not allow all aspects of Mrs B's social and end-of-life circumstances and care needs to be explored'.

These included 'the impact of being denied hospice care, additional care options, caregiver burden, consistency of the MAiD request, and divergent MAiD practitioner perspectives'.

Do You Remember? I Remember

Arielle Scarcella has an interesting, but short (About 1 minute) video asking if you remember some of the things they told you before the election of 2024. What Happened To Trump’s Gay Conversion Camps? Well, Arielle and friends.

Remember when they told us the gays would be in conversion-therapy camps as soon as Trump got elected?

Other things they told us

  • Joe Biden was coherent
  • Kamala was best for the job because of skin color
  • Hunter Biden's laptop was Russian disinformation
  • Inflation was a "good thing"
  • Social Media was absolutely NOT censoring conservatives

There is more in the video, and I bet you can remember even more examples.

Just make sure you never forget.

This is "I Remember" by Deadmau5 and Kaskade. Just because... well the video is probably appropriate for the Snowmageddon that the weather people are screaming about.

People You Know Can Be a Threat

The gun-hating Left loves to go on at length about how if you own a gun, you are more likely to shoot someone you know, than a perfect stranger. There is a reason for that. Elderly homeowner, intruder knew each other before home invasion shooting in Hopkins Co., deputies say

This is an incident that occurred last week, but very little information had been released by the police at that time.

Deputies say during the confrontation, the homeowner retrieved a gun and shot the alleged intruder, leaving him seriously injured.

The sheriff’s office has identified the suspect as William Hendrix, 52, of Mortons Gap.

According to HCSO, Hendrix and the homeowner knew each other before the incident.

They didn't say in what capacity they knew each other. Did they work together in the past. Was one employed by the other? It doesn't matter. The collection of people that you "know" is quite large, and not all of them are your friends.

The homeowner went to the hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The guy who got shot was critically injured and is still in the hospital.

Self-defense is a human right. (Find my original post on this incident at this link.)

"Windows sucks"

The consensus is growing. GOG's new owner can't stand Windows either: 'It's such poor-quality software… I can't believe it!'

GOG is a DRM-free game store the concentrates on classic games.

"Windows sucks" feels like one of the most uncontroversial statements you can make online these days. Between AI guff, constant upselling (would you like to purchase an Office 365 subscription? No? Okay I'll ask again tomorrow), and myriad other reasons to be sick to the back teeth of Microsoft, it kind of feels like we're all trapped beating on the glass of an OS determined to make itself worse with every update.

It is starting to be common knowledge that Microsoft hates their users.

GOG's new owner Michał Kiciński doesn't pull punches.

Kiciński's answer was a little more… cathartic? "I'm really surprised at Windows," he said. "It's such poor-quality software and product, and I'm so surprised that it's [spent] so many years on the market. I can't believe it!"

And it doesn't help that is is a piece of junk. Windows 11 Faces Backlash as Slowest OS in 25 Years, Benchmarks Show.

Windows 11 faces backlash for being the slowest OS in 25 years, lagging in benchmarks for boot times, app launches, and responsiveness compared to Windows 10 and earlier versions. Bloat from AI features, ads, and integrations causes slowdowns, frustrating users and prompting calls for Microsoft to prioritize efficiency in future updates.

If you don't care about costs, go for Apple and Mac. Everything costs twice as much, but you do you. If you do care about costs, and still want to dump Windows, back EVERYTHING up (twice) and convert to Linux. Linux Mint with the Cinnamon user interface is about 93% Windows. Zorrin OS (a flavor of Linux) can be made to look exactly like either Windows or Mac. Even Fortune magazine says there should be no learning curve.

Back To Black

Amy Winehouse was an artist I had completely missed when she was alive. Since her death I have heard a number of her songs, and I have to say I am sorry I didn't pay attention sooner. It was a tragedy when she passed away so young. Listening to today's song I hear a great jazz, R&B singer, who like too many artists was gone too soon. She died at 27.

WXRT's Saturday Morning Flashback was revisiting 2006 (20 years ago?) on January 3rd.

This song is "Back To Black" by Amy Winehouse. It is the title song to her 2006 album. It was released in 2007 as the 3rd single from that album.
