Alice Cooper is remastering some of his early albums. Alice Cooper's 'School's Out' And 'Killer' To Be Released As Deluxe Editions On June 9 - That Eric Alper

Alice Cooper was unstoppable during the 1970s when the band released four consecutive platinum albums and five Top 40 hits like “I’m Eighteen,” “School’s Out,” “No More Mr. Nice Guy,” and “Elected.” Rhino will reissue two of those platinum albums – Killer (1971) and School’s Out (1972) – with newly remastered sound, rare recordings, and previously unreleased live performances.

Save your pennies and mark your calendars.

Supposedly, they first time the words "Heavy Metal" were used to describe music, it was the music of Alice Cooper. I don't know that is true, and I don't know that it isn't.

There is actually a documentary on Heavy Metal, entitled Metal: A Headbanger's Journey from 2005, that was actually produced by a guy with a degree in anthropology. It is where that bit on Cooper and "Heavy Metal" come from. I have only seen the trailer, but it is on my list of things to watch. I was trying to tack down a copy, but is apparently available on YouTube. It may even be for free.
