Free Markets Work

Politicians hate that they cannot command the economy to do their bidding. Honda Posts First-Ever Annual Loss After Pullback From E.V.s - The New York Times

Honda had a loss of $2.7 billion for the year ended 31 March.

The sharp downturn underscores the extent to which Honda — and many other automakers that poured billions into electric vehicles — has been buffeted by cooling demand.

Everybody who wants an EV has one. The rest of us don't, because of things like the 39% decrease in range in "cold weather," and really 20 degrees Fahrenheit is not that cold.

The hat tip goes to MGUY Australia and his video Honda posts first LOSS in 70 YEARS (thanks to EVs...)

The initial spike in EV sales has been uh driven by the Three Fs of Fanboys, Fleets, and Freebies. Fanboys who went out and bought a Tesla because they thought it was cool. Fleets who are forced to buy EVs by governments, who are offering massive incentives for them to to abandon their combustion fleets and and go all electric. And then we have the freebies, the tax incentives.
