Take Public Transit, They Said

New York has serious problems and no one trying to solve them. Woman fatally set on fire on Brooklyn subway; suspect in custody: NYPD | FOX 2 Detroit

Around 7:30 a.m., the woman and the suspect were both riding the "F" train to the end of the line at the Stillwell Avenue Subway station in Coney Island.

Police said the victim was seated when a 33-year-old man, a migrant from Guatamala, who police haven’t identified approached the woman and set her on fire with his lighter.

NYC is about to start taxing people who don't want to die on the subway drive into certain areas of the city.

I'm actually shocked that they identified the suspect/"person of interest" as an immigrant.

Why would anyone want to live in NYC?

Electric Vehicle Explosion at the Port of Miami - Updated Info

Back on Friday, 29 November, a vehicle in a shipping container exploded at the Port of Miami. The shipping container was loaded with 4 electric vehicles that had been impacted in one way or another by this year's hurricanes.

The following video was recommended by What is Going on With Shipping? The video below is pretty interesting and fairly complete about all of the things that can go wrong with electric vehicles after they've been flooded, or otherwise impacted by hurricanes.

The most disturbing thing in the video is how vehicles with damaged/salvaged/or destruction titles in Florida and become clean titles in another state.

No one was hurt when the car exploded, but that was just luck. If someone had been standing near enough to the shipping container, they could have (would have?) died.

This is the StacheD Training video Port of Miami Explosion Update: New Details!

Patrick Durham, Captain and Training Officer at Station 4 in the Troy Fire Department, Michigan. His YouTube channel covers a lot of things on fires, and how things can go wrong in a hurry. It looks like an interesting channel; I may have to check out a few videos.

Self-Defense Is Legal in Illinois

You can never really be sure in a blue state. From the News Gazette: Investigation closing on home invasion which led to death of intruder

On November 10th the soon-to-be-dead guy decided to break into an occupied home. He was met by an armed homeowner.

According to police, the resident engaged in a physical altercation with Becerril-Perez and fired multiple shots.

They are still waiting on the toxicology report to close the file, but the State's Attorney for the area seems to be convinced.

State’s Attorney Julia Rietz says that her preliminary review indicates the use of deadly force by the homeowner was justified.

Champaign, Illinois is home to The University of Illinois. It is about a 130 mile drive south of Chicago, or about 145 miles northeast of Saint Louis, Missouri, though if you are driving from Saint Louis it will be closer to 180 miles by car.

Self-defense is a human right. It might also be your legal right in Illinois, but it might not.

"Societal Decay Is Eliminating NYC's Middle Class"

That appears to be the Left's goal. Eliminate the middle class. Leaving only the rich, and the poor. It is easier to control the poor, especially when the rich control the food. Though I don't think they have paid attention to history, and all the ways that the rich have been purged.

This is Cash Jordan's video NYC Thieves Steal So Much Food… Families Starve

If you're a criminal, and you don't want to work a normal job in this city, it looks like there's an opportunity for you doing things that basically devalue life here for every single person. To me that's a criminal offense, but apparently it's not a criminal offense to our leaders, who don't think those people should actually be punished, or put in jail, for taking things that don't belong to them, even though not punishing that crime could lead to more stores shutting down.

The video is just over 17 minutes, so plan accordingly.

Antisemitism in Canada on the Rise

The Liberal government in Canada appears to be doing little, or nothing, to combat it. Assailants firebomb a synagogue in a Montreal suburb for the second time in just over a year

Mordecai Zeitz, the emeritus rabbi at Congregation Beth Tikvah, a modern Orthodox synagogue in the suburb of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, said the congregants met for morning prayers on Wednesday morning outside the synagogue.

As mentioned, this is the second time in 13 months that the synagogue has been attacked.

Assailants tossed a firebomb at the same synagogue in November 2023 just weeks after Hamas’ invasion, which launched Israel’s multi-front war. There have been a number of similar attacks on Canadian Jewish institutions since then, including shots fired at Jewish schools. In August, bomb threats were sent to dozens of Jewish institutions across Canada.

That isn't the only story, because the frequency of attacks seems to be increasing. Jewish School in Toronto Is Targeted for a Third Time

Gunshots struck a Jewish elementary school in Toronto on Friday for the third time in seven months, the latest in a series of antisemitic attacks that prompted officials to announce a new push to address Canada’s rising hate crimes.

I promise you, that whatever they do, they won't concentrate on the source of the antisemitism. They can't even say, "antisemitism." It is "hate crimes" to them, because they will not focus on where this particular brand of hate is coming from. IYKWIMAITYD.

Because, no matter what the Left, or the media (but I repeat myself) will tell you, this isn't about what Israel is doing or not doing thousands of miles away from schools and synagogues; this is about hating all Jews everywhere.

Trudeau's response - to both attacks - was to issue an official Tweet on X. Two tweets Yeah, that will stop the carnage. The tweets said exactly what you would expect them to say: a bunch of meaningless BS.

More on Self-Defense in New Orleans

Do you practice shooting one handed? Do you practice shooting with your non-dominate hand? You should.

This is Colion Noir's video Caught On Video: Store Clerk Shoots Two Armed Robbers In New Orleans.

I think most people will go to shoot one-handed in a self-defense situation, without even realizing it. Now when most people go to the gun range, they're usually out there with their perfect two-handed grip trying to get those tight little groups on their targets, but in real life you don't always get that luxury. You might be holding something, fending off an attack, or, in this case, reacting under extreme pressure.

The video is 8 minutes, so grab a beverage.

For my initial post on this incident, see The British Are Mystified by Self-Defense

Jaguar Land Rover Fires Whistleblower Over Safety of Electric Cars

"Shut Up!" they explained. Jaguar Land Rover electric car whistleblower sacked

The problems in question were not at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), but they were perfectly happy to fire a whistleblower. They are apparently worried he might expose any problems at JLR. As Mr. H says in the video below, "Stop making sh*t cars, then."

The BBC has seen evidence the multinational corporation that owns Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) arranged for a whistleblower to be sacked for raising concerns about the safety of electric cars it designed.

Confidential emails between executives at Tata Group reveal they retaliated against mechanical engineer Hazar Denli for posting concerns on Reddit that lives were being put at risk. He was then blacklisted.

The company was producing cars with parts the could fail, and were failing. Parts of the suspension that, when they failed, caused drivers to lose control of their vehicles and crash. People were dying.

Mr Denli, a specialist in chassis design, was appointed to lead the engineering team working on the car's front suspension and chassis from September 2022, halfway through a design and testing phase he says had an unusually tight timetable.

He soon became concerned VinFast was cutting corners with safety, keeping costs down by employing a small team of inexperienced engineers.

His concerns grew when he heard three of his predecessors had quit after short spells on the project.

He tried to raise concerns internally, but there was a stock deal in the works, so he quit.

VinFast, which was preparing to sell shares in itself and raise funds by floating on the New York Stock Exchange, instead pushed ahead with production.

And people are dying in those cars.

Then on 24 April this year, a family-of-four was killed in a crash in Pleasanton, California. Police reported the vehicle lost control, veered off the road, hit a pole and caught fire.

When Mr Denli went public with the problems at VinFast, and VinFast figured out who made the public statements, they contacted his new employer, JLR, and got him fired.

There are many more details in the article, or you can watch the following video from Mr H Reviews. Jaguar Land Rover FIRED Whistleblower Who Raised Safety Concerns Over Electrics Cars

Faun is a group that is a bit hard to categorize. They have had some significant changes in personnel over they years, and the style has shifted as well. They are usually called Pagan Folk or Darkwave. I'm not sure that matters much.

Self-Defense Is Legal in Wisconsin

Something you can never be sure of in Blue States. No charges for 12-year-old in fatal 51st and Hadley shooting; self-defense cited

How old do you need to be to defend your mother?

A 12-year-old boy who was arrested after fatally shooting someone near 51st and Hadley on Saturday will not face criminal charges.

That is a statement from the DA for Milwaukee County, Wisconsin.

On Saturday, 14 December, a man was arguing with the boy's mother. As the argument escalated, the 12-year-old shot the guy. The DA ruled that he was acting in defense of his mother.

Self-defense is a human right, and it might be your legal right in Wisconsin.

DA's HATE Self-Defense

Or why would you charge a man in the face of video evidence? Madison County judge rules in favor of man claiming self-defense in fatal shooting

Do you think The System™ cares about Justice? They don't. They care about winning.

While inside the courtroom on Monday, WAFF learned that there was video evidence, showing Cattage pointing a gun at Varner’s head before the deadly shooting.

So the soon-to-be-dead guy pointed a firearm at the defendant's head. On video. Cops arrested him. The DA charged him. Oh, but there are other charges. "Let's just throw murder into the mix and see if it sticks!" I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that he's black and this took place in Alabama.

Ask yourself, "What would you do if someone threatened you like this?" Runaway? Hard to outrun a bullet.

He still faces other charges, but I don't think there is anything that could put him in prison for life left on the table.

The Revolving Door of Injustice

It is mean, or it is not fair, or something, to put criminals in jail. On federal parole for stolen machine gun case, man's charged with murdering 62-year-old on Thanksgiving - CWB Chicago

He was arrested for tossing a stolen machine gun from a car while speeding along an expressway in Chicago. U.S. District Judge Virginia Kendal sentenced him to 5 years in prison in May of 2021. He was out on parole.

He made an impassioned speech at sentencing for that crime about how he was going to turn his life around, for his kids. Yeah, not so much.

Currently on parole for that machine gun case, Hughes is back in custody, accused of shooting and killing a 62-year-old man on Thanksgiving afternoon.

Stolen gun. Machine gun. Color me shocked that he was sentenced to only 5 years. OK so I'm not that shocked. I would bet that the judge could have sent him away longer.

At least the judge in this case held him as a threat to the community.

So it is unfair to send bad guys to prison. How unfair is it to the family of Ignacio Mendiola, who died two days after Gad Huges shot him in the head? Why are the bleeding hearts never feeling bad for the victims of crime?

Hat tip to Second City Cop: "Escalation" - Ya Think?

Are You Able Defend Yourself When Seated in a Car?

This is a story that slipped past my news filters, which is why it is 2 weeks old. Masked man shot during carjacking attempt outside St. Pete restaurant, cops say

Floridians in general are heavily armed, but drawing a firearm when you are seated in a car, probably wearing a seat belt, can be an issue. If you are right handed, can you deal with someone, an armed someone, in the passenger seat?

The incident occurred about 8 p.m. in front of the Crafty Crab, 2901 Tyrone Blvd. N. Police said a man was waiting in a car while his wife was inside the restaurant picking up food.

A man in a mask entered the vehicle and “attempted a carjacking,” St. Petersburg police said in a news release.

“The victim pulled out his own gun and fired at the suspect,” the news release states. “The suspect fled the scene and the victim called 911 and waited for police to arrive.”

The would-be carjacker was shot, and fled to a neighboring business. He was taken to a local hospital "where he was in critical but stable condition."

Self-defense is a human-right, and this didn't take place in New York City.

This is the Colion Noir video Carjacker Shot By Armed Citizen In A Shocking Twist Of Self Defense

There are a few things that infuriate me more than carjackers. Home invasions are the only contender. However both situations exploit your vulnerability, but I'd argue you're at an even greater disadvantage when you're in your car. At least in a home invasion you've got some semblance of home field advantage. You can Retreat to different rooms, grab a larger firearm, or maybe even get a heads up if an alarm goes off or a window shatters. In your car, you're basically sitting in a steel coffin.

The video is six minutes.

Granite Grok has some thoughts on Congressional power and responsibility. Perversion of The Power To Declare War

Congress passes the buck to the President by implementing such laws as the post-9/11 Authorization to Use Military Force, perverting the original intent of the Framers. In essence, there is a congressional abdication of power to the President to start a war. The President, in turn, has been giving this power to the UN/NATO to obtain a Resolution.

This Sounds More Like Car Jacking

I will leave it to you to decide. In either case it seems to be another failure of the victim-selection process. Lehigh Acres car break-in leads to shooting death of alleged burglar

An alleged would-be car burglar was shot and killed early Saturday morning after trying to break into a parked car in a Lehigh Acres driveway — with the driver still sitting inside, according to the Lee County Sheriff's Office.

If the driver was still in the car, it doesn't sound like burglary to me.

Lehigh Acres, Florida is a section of Lee County which is about 8 miles east of Fort Myers.

“Everyone deserves to feel safe on their own property,” [Lee County Sheriff Carmine] Marceno said in the news release. “The homeowner exercised their right to protect themself, which unfortunately resulted in a loss of a life today.”

So again, why try to "burglarize" a car in Florida with the owner still inside? Floridians are heavily armed, and self-defense is a thing in the Sunshine State.

Fake News

It isn't just a conspiracy theory anymore. Michael Goodwin: The left-wing media created their own crisis, now have to pay the price for attacking Donald Trump

Only one in three adults say they have some or a great deal of confidence in mainstream media reports, according to an October Gallup survey.

If they were just incompetent, that would be one thing. I still wouldn't trust them, but you can't hate people for being stupid. You can be annoyed by them, or try to instruct them, but not hate them. These Professional Journalists™ aren't stupid; they're liars.

The settlement with ABC News (owned by Disney) and George Stephanopoulos has been in the news. They had to pay Trump 16 million dollars for a Presidential Library and legal fees. And they had to apologize.

Ouch — the apology surely stung much more than the money.

Then CNN, in the person of Clarissa Ward, and a cast of a few, stated that helped it helped free a prisoner of the Syrian government. Of course that wasn't true. And this isn't the first time that Clarissa Ward has been accused of having a strange relationship with the truth.

The woman behind the Duke rape scandal has finally admitted that she made the whole thing up in 2006, destroying lives for her 15 minutes of fame. She apologized.

Will the media also apologize?

Don’t hold your breath.

Then there is the Des Moines Register and a strange poll released just before the election.

Findings by the pollster, Ann Selzer, that were released three days before the election showed Kamala Harris leading Trump by three points. It was a potential earthquake since all other polls predicted Trump would win the state easily, and the Selzer poll gave Dems hopes that Iowa would flip blue and that other states would too.

In fact, the poll was off by an astounding 16 points, with Trump winning Iowa by 13 points.

Trump is suing over election interference.

Selzer and the Register have denied the charge, but her explanation for the giant size of her mistake is less than persuasive.

According to Semafor, she suggested her poll might have served to “energize and activate Republican voters.”

You could go back farther than that of course. Dan Rather and RatherGate (RatherGate?) comes to mind. But the granddaddy of them all is Walter Duranty of the New York Times, and his simping for the Communists in Russia, and hiding all evidence, and discrediting reports, of the Holodomor. That was the time Stalin & Company killed between 4 million and 7 million Ukrainians, perhaps more. But hey, Duranty liked Communism and didn't want to see it cast in a bad light. (4 million dead might do just that.)

When Law and Order Break Down ...

Then the people will take matters into their own hands. No one should be surprised by this. McDonald's patrons tackled and beat an armed robber until cops arrived, Chicago police report says - CWB Chicago

A man robbed a McDonald's on November 13th. Then he came back again for more money on November 23rd.

But this robbery ended a little differently. According to a CPD report, Johnson was “tackled, held on the floor, and beaten by unknown bystanders until police arrived.”

Officers arrived to find Johnson lying face down on the floor with “a crowd of individuals holding him down and kicking him about the head.”

The cops detained Johnson, recovered a firearm and extended magazine from his person, and “dispersed the crowd to prevent the offender from sustaining further injuries,” according to the police report. Surveillance cameras recorded the incident.

The bad guy had to be hospitalized from the injuries.

Does this constitute militia action, or just a mob fed up with the breakdown of civilization?

Law and order are certainly breaking down in Chicago, and in the other cities as well. (See this link for one of the latest Cash Jordan videos on the state of NYC.) Society exists to provide security. That is no longer being provided. Without law and order, you can't have nice things. You can't have anything really. Or as Hobbes stated it, when there is no force-of-law to keep people in check, things break down and life becomes "nasty, brutish, and short."

See the entire passage I'm referencing at this link on Hobbes' Leviathan.

Self-defense in Nevada

Police are treating it like self-defense. HPD: Man killed in possible self-defense shooting outside Henderson shopping center

Henderson, Nevada is about 16 miles southeast of downtown Las Vegas.

An initial investigation revealed that two cars pulled into the parking lot after one car had possibly struck the other. A 55-year-old man exited his vehicle and flashed a gun in his waistband to the other driver. However, the other driver, a 42-year-old man, was also armed and shot the 55-year-old.

So he died over a fender bender? Not the best choice.

Cops don't make determinations on charges, and I have no feeling for how the Clark County DA feels about self-defense. Self-defense is a human right.
