From KSNT in Topeka. Manhattan man critically injured in shooting, self-defense may be a factor: RCPD
In this case, it is Manhattan, Kansas. It is roughly an hour drive west of Topeka, or an hour and 45 minute drive west of Kansas City.
The RCPD said just before 8 p.m. on Oct. 9, officers responded to the 900 block of Yuma Street for reports of shots fired. Police found a 23-year-old man from Manhattan had been shot in a nearby parking lot.
The guy who got shot, was taken to a local hospital, and then flown to a trauma center in Topeka.
Police believe that the shooter was acting in self-defense, though the investigation continues.
Self-defense is a human right. As for your legal right... I suspect that this will be handled much differently than it would in that other Manhattan. (I'm not thinking of Manhattan, Illinois.)
