Feeling Insulted Is Not a Threat of Death or Grave Bodily Injury

Strip mall owner found guilty of murder for shooting, killing man who urinated on building

A strip mall owner was found guilty of fatally shooting a drunk, unarmed man who he caught urinating on his property, despite his claims that the shooting was in self-defense.

I get feeling insulted, and I get wanting to do something about it, but that is not how the law works.

You have to remember that every bullet comes with a lawyer attached.

And this is definitely a case of Florida Man.

    Ouch, that's gotta sting.

A drunk murdered a drunk. More than a part of me says, good.
Life is sacred and wanton murder is a very awful thing. Grotesque, really. But twice I've been hit by drink drivers. (my sister nearly died after being plowed into by a drunk driver. Lots of surgeries there.)

Sure, no one was driving here, I won't even say they coulda been. Being drunk in public presents a serious danger to society. Now, sadly one is dead, the other going to prison. Society is better for it.

But he was just pissing against a wall. Doesn't the bar have a toilet? When inebriated, stupid stuff seems like a grand idea. Best to stay indoors.

There has to be more to the story. What would be the reason why Brewer followed Hughes outside?
