McDonald's, Downtown Chicago, and Crime

Cash Jordan usually is taking on issues in New York City. Today he takes aim at Chicago, and also a bit from New York.

McDonald's is closing a fair number of stores in the Loop and other parts of Chciago. In some of the places where they are staying open, they are blocking high-school-age kids. Why? You know why. (You were in high school once, but you couldn't get away with the stuff they let slide today!)

This is the Cash Jordan video McDonald's is Leaving Chicago... Because Of Crime

In part of the video, there is a discussion of foot traffic in The Loop, the section of downtown where McDonald's has been closing these restaurants. The foot traffic is up to levels seen before the pandemic or better.

So the problem isn't a foot traffic problem. The problem is a law and order problem, and if you live in a place like Chicago where this has taken place, or in New York, and nobody goes to jail for stuff like assault or petty crime, or you've got super lax bail laws that release repeat offenders on their millionth time getting busted, you're going to have a lot of this going on.

The video is 12 minutes, so grab a coffee.
