I expect everyone in Texas to be armed. I know that they aren't all carrying weapons, but that is still the safe assumption. In rural Texas, I just might be right in thinking everyone is armed. Texas Man Shot After Crashing Through Gate and Driving at Property Owner - USA Carry

So a guy decided to use his vehicle to crash through a gate on private property, and drive toward the property owner. The property owner shot him. The guy who got shot was airlifted to a trauma center, and he is expected to survive.

In Texas, a vehicle used to threaten or cause harm can legally be classified as a deadly weapon. If an individual uses a vehicle to forcefully enter property and then drives directly at another person, that action can meet the legal threshold for an imminent threat of serious bodily injury or death. Under those circumstances, the use of deadly force may be justified under Texas self-defense statutes.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers have opened an investigation, but it is far from complete. No one has been arrested. Yet.

Self-defense is a human right, and this didn't take place in New York City.

  1. All shootings/homicides MUST go before a Grand Jury in Texas. The outcome of that depends greatly on what part of Texas. In Austin or Tarrant county you can be screwed. In the rest of Texas....not so much.
